“Ecobuild 2017 was a huge success with over 20,000 forward-thinking industry professionals attending the show to explore the latest innovations from more than 450 leading exhibitors, join the Redefining Sustainability debate, and discuss the key issues currently facing the built environment.”
Ecobuild has been important to HDL clients, and therefore to us, since its conception. This year, three clients (two existing and one new) asked us to be involved.
When MEDITE SMARTPLY first asked us to come up with a design concept for Ecobuild, Stuart Devoil, Head of Marketing & Branding said that they wanted to work with Goldfinger Factory to create a unique café experience on the stand.
HDL have been working with MEDITE SMARTPLY throughout Europe this winter and as such we have developed an effective style which we adopted for the Stand, café area and entrances for MEDITE SMARTPLY.
“Is an award-winning design, build and teaching platform centred around upcycling that creates bespoke furniture and interiors, whilst helping artisans and artisans-in-the-making become self-sustaining through craft and in turn saving materials from landfill.”
Stuart also added – “Oh, and we’re also sponsoring the event, so could you design and build four entrances for us, as well!”
MEDITE SMARTPLY Entrances
MEDITE SMARTPLY’s presence at the show was quite clearly evident from the moment the visitor stepped up to the entrance booth. This all culminated in a highly successful show for them and praise for HDL from Stuart:
“People commented on the stand, the graphics, the light boxes, the furniture, the trees, the ‘Goldfinger Corner’. This all resulted in us winning an award, so BIG thanks to you all for that – this is really your award, not ours!”
(MEDITE SMARTPLY were awarded the most sustainable stand over 60m2 at Ecobuild 2017.)
CFA, an award-winning marketing agency for the building environment, wanted to make an impact again this year after sponsoring the event last year. Using 80% up-cycled MEDITE SMARTPLY material, HDL designed and installed a stand which created a friendly, comfortable environment to discuss business.
Chief executive, Colin Felton said to us on the stand at midday on the first day that, “he’d signed up a new client earlier, so was happy that the stand had already achieved his objectives”
For our newest client, ‘Green Blue Urban’, the stand was doubly important as it was their first time of exhibiting and also their 25th anniversary. So, Louise and Tanya and their marketing team had a lot to pack in!
The inclusion of a suspended banner over their stand was a very effective way for visitors to identify their position. There was also a ‘live’ product display on the stand, (along with three further product displays around the show) which acted as a powerful timeline to the rear wall, with four rear-illuminated premier case studies.
This gave the team on the Green Blue Urban stand a lot to talk about!
Our team on site worked hard to achieve this success, even in the way we scheduled the dismantling and removal of all materials from Excel to our storage facility, where it will be distributed for ‘upcycling’. We’re proud to have played our part in our clients’ successes.
